At DataForge Systems LLC ("DataForge," "we," "us"), we believe your data is yours. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, what we don't collect, and how we handle the data we do have.

1. Data That Stays on Your Machine

SAIP — the Software Asset Intelligence Platform — is a desktop application. When you use SAIP to scan, audit, or analyze your software assets:

• All processing happens locally on your computer.
• Your software inventory data is never transmitted to DataForge Systems or any third party.
• Scan results, reports, and analyses are stored only on your device.
• We have no ability to access, view, or retrieve your inventory data.

You are solely responsible for the security, backup, and management of data stored on your own systems.

2. Information We Do Collect

We collect a limited amount of personal information through the following channels:

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

• Deliver your SAIP license and manage your account.
• Process subscription renewals and cancellations.
• Send important product updates or security notices (not marketing spam).
• Improve our website based on aggregated analytics.
• Respond to support inquiries or legal requests.

4. Information We Do NOT Collect

To be clear, DataForge Systems does not collect:

• Your software inventory or asset data.
• SAIP scan results or reports.
• Information about the software installed on your systems.
• Usage telemetry or behavioral data from the SAIP application.
• Contacts, files, or other personal data from your device.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process limited data:

• Gumroad: Handles purchases and subscription billing. Gumroad collects payment information and email addresses under their own privacy policy.
• Netlify: Hosts our website and provides analytics. Netlify may collect standard web server logs (IP addresses, browser type, pages visited).

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these services for details on how they handle data.

6. Data Sharing

We may share information only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers: With Gumroad and Netlify as described above, solely for operating our business.
• Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental regulation.
• Business transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case you would be notified.

7. Data Retention

We retain your email address and purchase records for as long as needed to fulfill our obligations (license management, subscription services, and legal compliance). If you request deletion of your data, we will remove it within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal retention requirements.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your personal data (subject to legal obligations).
• Opt out of non-essential communications.

9. GDPR and International Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or other jurisdictions with data protection laws:

• Local processing: SAIP processes all data on your device. No inventory data is transferred to us or to any server, so GDPR data transfer concerns do not apply to SAIP usage data.
• Minimal personal data: The only personal data we collect is your email address (for purchases) and standard website analytics. We process this data based on legitimate interest (operating our business) and contractual necessity (fulfilling your purchase).
• Your rights: You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing. Contact privacy@dataforgesystems.io to exercise these rights.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited personal information we hold. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted to or stored by our third-party service providers.

11. Children's Privacy

SAIP and our services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, United States.
