Why isn't Haul detecting my trips automatically?
Haul needs "Always" location permission to detect trips in the background. Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Haul and make sure it's set to "Always." Also make sure Auto-detect trips is turned on in the Haul Settings tab.
Why aren't there many yard sales showing on the map?
Haul's sale map is community-powered — the more resellers who add sales, the better the map gets. If you see a sale that isn't listed, tap the green Add Sale button and add it. It'll show up for everyone in your area immediately.
How do I classify a trip as Business or Personal?
When Haul detects a completed trip, you'll get a notification on your lock screen with two buttons — Business and Personal. Tap one and it's classified without opening the app. You can also swipe right on any trip in the Trips tab to toggle its classification.
What is the IRS mileage rate?
The 2026 IRS standard mileage rate for business is $0.725 per mile. Haul uses this rate automatically to calculate your deduction. You can view historical rates and change the rate in the Settings tab.
How does Flip Check work?
Flip Check is a Pro feature. Tap the Flip Check button, take a photo of an item at a yard sale, and Haul identifies the item and pulls recent sold prices from eBay so you can decide if it's worth buying. It works best with clear, well-lit photos of the item.
How do I export my mileage for taxes?
Go to the Reports tab, select the tax year, and tap "Export CSV for taxes." This generates a spreadsheet with every business trip including date, start and end address, miles, purpose, and deduction amount. You can share it directly with your accountant.
Can I manually add a trip I forgot to track?
Yes — tap the + button on the Home tab or the Trips tab and select Log Trip. Fill in the details manually and save it.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Haul Pro → Cancel Subscription. You'll keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period.
I deleted the app and lost my data. Can I get it back?
Trip and expense data is stored locally on your device — if you delete the app without exporting first, the data cannot be recovered. We recommend exporting a CSV from the Reports tab regularly as a backup.
