Terms of Service

Last Updated: May 9, 2026

The short version: PinVault is an iOS app for Disney pin collectors. By using it, you agree to the rules below. The big ones: you own your stuff but give us permission to display it in the app; you're responsible for what you upload; trades happen directly between users (we're not a party); authentication scans are guidance, not guarantees; disputes go to arbitration unless you opt out within 30 days.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PinVault, a mobile application operated by DataForge Systems LLC ("DataForge Systems," "we," "us"). PinVault helps Disney pin collectors track their collections, identify pins by scanning, look up market values, and trade with other collectors.

By creating an account or using PinVault, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Who Can Use PinVault

You must be at least 13 years old to use PinVault. If you're under 18, you must have a parent or guardian's permission. PinVault is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn we have, we'll delete it.

You're responsible for any activity on your account. Keep your Sign in with Apple credentials secure. If you think someone else has access to your account, tell us at support@dataforgesystems.io.

2. Your Account

PinVault uses Sign in with Apple for authentication. You can stop using PinVault at any time and request that we delete your account. Account deletion is available from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account) and through Apple's standard account deletion flow.

When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal data within 30 days. Some content may persist in anonymized form (for example, completed trades may remain in the other party's history). Public content you've shared (canonical pin photos you contributed, reviews, etc.) may continue to appear if it's been incorporated into shared catalog data, but it will no longer be linked to your identity.

3. The PinVault Service

PinVault includes the following features, which may change over time:

We may add, remove, or change features. We'll do our best to give notice of meaningful changes through the app or by email.

4. User Content

"User Content" means anything you upload, post, or share through PinVault — including photos of pins, collection details, custom notes, trade messages, and pin submissions to the catalog.

You own your content

You retain ownership of your User Content. We don't claim copyright in what you upload.

What you give us permission to do

By uploading User Content to PinVault, you grant DataForge Systems a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for technical purposes like resizing or format conversion), display, distribute, and use your User Content as needed to operate, maintain, improve, and promote PinVault.

For example: when you upload a photo of a pin you own, this license lets us display that photo to you in your collection, to other users when permitted by your privacy settings, and — if your photo is selected as the canonical image for that pin in our catalog — to anyone viewing that pin's detail page, with attribution to your username.

This license ends when you delete the User Content or your account, except to the extent that the content has been incorporated into shared catalog data (canonical pin photos, completed trade history) where removal is impractical or would harm other users' use of the service.

Your responsibility

You represent and warrant that:

If you upload someone else's photo without their permission — for example, screenshots from another website, marketplace listings, or social media — you may be infringing copyright, and you bear the legal responsibility for that, not us. If a copyright owner sends us a takedown notice for your content, we'll remove it. See our Copyright Policy & DMCA Procedure for how that works.

5. Acceptable Use

Don't use PinVault to:

We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe in good faith that you've violated these rules. For copyright violations specifically, we follow the repeat-infringer policy in our Copyright Policy.

6. Trades Between Users

Important: Trades on PinVault happen directly between users. DataForge Systems is not a party to your trade. We don't take possession of pins, hold funds in escrow, verify what you ship, guarantee transactions, or mediate every dispute.

PinVault provides a messaging and matching tool to help collectors find each other and coordinate trades. The actual trade — including shipping, payment of any cash equalizer, and confirming receipt — happens between you and the other user.

You're responsible for:

We may, at our discretion, intervene in trades that involve clear fraud, harassment, or violations of these Terms. We may also use trade feedback and reputation data to inform future matching, surface concerning patterns, or suspend accounts. But we don't promise to resolve every dispute, and we don't guarantee the outcome of any trade.

If you have a serious dispute with another user that you can't resolve directly, you can contact us at support@dataforgesystems.io. We'll review and may take action, but we make no promises about outcome.

7. Authentication Scans

Authentication scans are guidance, not guarantees. Confidence levels (High, Medium, Low) are AI-generated estimates based on visual analysis. They are not definitive determinations of authenticity, and they should not be the sole basis for any purchase, sale, trade, or financial decision.

Counterfeit detection in Disney pins is genuinely difficult. Even expert human authenticators with the pin in hand can disagree. Our AI does its best with the image you provide, but it can be wrong — both ways. A "High" confidence result doesn't prove a pin is authentic; a "Low" confidence result doesn't prove it's a counterfeit.

For this reason:

8. Subscriptions, Pricing, and Payments

PinVault offers a free tier and one paid subscription tier (Pro). All paid subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store using your Apple ID. We don't see your payment information.

Auto-renewal

Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, depending on what you chose) unless you cancel. Cancellation must be done through your Apple ID settings — we can't cancel on your behalf.

Free trials

If we offer a free trial, you'll be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.

Refunds

All refund requests for App Store purchases must go through Apple. Apple's refund policy is the one that applies — not ours. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Pricing changes

We may change subscription prices. If we do, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice through the app or by email. Price changes apply to the next billing period after the notice; you can cancel before the change takes effect if you don't want to continue at the new price.

9. Our Intellectual Property

PinVault — including the app code, design, branding, the PinVault name and logo, and the structure of our pin reference catalog (apart from individual pin records sourced from licensed third parties or contributed by users) — is owned by DataForge Systems LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

Pin reference data in our catalog includes information licensed from third-party providers (such as Pin & Pop) and contributed by community members. Where required by our licenses, attribution is provided in the app.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PinVault for its intended purpose. We retain all rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms.

10. Third-Party Services

PinVault integrates with or relies on third-party services, including:

Your use of these services within PinVault is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies as well as ours. We're not responsible for third-party services' content, policies, or practices.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DataForge Systems disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, title, accuracy, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that PinVault will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components, or that any defects will be corrected. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any data in PinVault, including pin metadata, market value information, identification results, or authentication results.

12. Limitation of Liability

DataForge Systems and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, reputation, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of PinVault.

This includes, without limitation, losses related to:

In no event shall DataForge Systems' total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to PinVault or these Terms exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DataForge Systems and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from any claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

14. Termination

You can stop using PinVault at any time. You can delete your account from within the app at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access to PinVault if we believe you've violated these Terms or applicable law, if your use creates risk or potential legal exposure for us, or if we discontinue PinVault.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including User Content licenses (where applicable), disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution — survive termination.

15. Arbitration and Class Action Waiver

Agreement to arbitrate

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and DataForge Systems agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating in any way to these Terms or your use of PinVault ("Disputes") will be resolved exclusively and finally by binding individual arbitration, rather than in court.

Arbitration will be conducted by a single neutral arbitrator under the rules and procedures of a recognized arbitration provider applicable to consumer disputes, unless we agree otherwise in writing. The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.

Exceptions

Either party may:

Class action waiver

Jury trial waiver

Opt-out

If you don't want to be bound by this arbitration and class action waiver provision, you must send us a written notice within 30 days after the date you first accepted these Terms. Send your notice to legal@dataforgesystems.io with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out." Your notice must include your name, the email address associated with your account, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration and the class action waiver. Opting out won't affect any of your other rights or obligations under these Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms and your use of PinVault are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

Subject to the arbitration provisions above, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Madison County, Alabama, for any action permitted to proceed in court, and you waive any objection to jurisdiction or venue in those courts.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top and provide additional notice through the app or by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of PinVault after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't accept them, you can stop using PinVault and delete your account.

18. Apple-Specific Terms

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and DataForge Systems, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for PinVault. To the extent any third-party EULA conflicts with Apple's standard end-user license agreement, Apple's terms govern with respect to your use on Apple devices. The license granted by these Terms is limited to a non-transferable license to use PinVault on Apple-branded products that you own or control, in accordance with Apple's App Store Terms of Service.

Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

19. Miscellaneous

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Copyright Policy, are the entire agreement between you and DataForge Systems regarding your use of PinVault.

Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision isn't a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms to a successor or in connection with a sale, merger, or reorganization.
